** EDEA SMITH IS NOW ON FACEBOOK - CLICK HERE **

Want a quick, SUPER easy and FREE (yep, FREE) DIY then this one is for you. All you need for this are some regular 'we all have them laying around the house' type items. This Vintage Jar Vase not only looks really cute but its also incredibly easy to make and did i mention my favourite 'F' word...

FREE!
... if your reading this and don't have access to glass jars, twine/ribbon, a button and a couple of flowers perhaps this is not the blog for you, sorry :(

WHAT YOU NEED
> Button (cuter the better, i found these wooden Stag buttons in my craft draw, plain clothing buttons would work well too, i did find a bigger button was easier to thread on to the twine)
> Empty Glass Jar (Mine was an empty bottle of Alphonso Mango Salad Dressing, which by the way is really nice if you haven't tried it)
> Twine (ribbon would also work really well too, why not use a red/green for Christmas, pastels for Spring)
> Pretty Blooms (I LOVE Hydrangeas in the house, this blue one was left over from my Thrifty Find : Galvanised Planter) Picking flowers from your own garden is a satisfying thing.
> Scissors

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO
> Pick yourself an empty and yet pretty looking glass jar
> Wash your glass jar thoroughly in the sink and remove and labelling, discard the lid.
> Cut a section of twine and wrap the twine around the neck of the jar
> Leave the two end with a few inches of twine to spare
> Choose your button and thread the two ends of the twine through two holes
> Tie the twine onto the button to secure
> I pulled open the twine end (its twisted into three) and cut the ends until i was happy with how it looked
> Fill your jar and go find yourself some pretty blooms from your garden
> Pop it somewhere with pride
> Remind yourself it cost nothing but the items you already owned
> Enjoy your pretty, unique vase which was made by you!

I have an abundance of these within our home, i actually only think i own one vase which had the actual purpose of being a vase when i bought it.

* tip - I GREAT tip with these which makes them SO handily and versatile.
When your bunch of flowers is starting to wilt and you loose some blooms pick out the best flowers and put them into smaller 'Jar Vases' you can split what was once a single 'bunch' of flowers into potentially half a dozen or more small flower displays. Its a GREAT way to keep flowers in your home and a BRILL way to not waste the flowers which still have a few days/weeks left in them.
[ SEE BELOW ] These are flowers left over from a bunch i bought a couple of weeks ago, the rest had seen better days so were thrown out however these blooms had a couple more days left.

I always think that adding flowers to a room (even if it is just a singular bloom) makes a room look SO much more inviting and cosy, i would love half a dozen small 'vase jars' with a few blooms in within my home over a bunch shoved and stuffed awkwardly into a vase any day of the week... i'm certainly not a florist and flower arranging is NOT a skill i own. FACT.
