THRIFTY FINDS - UPCYCLED 'DIY' VINTAGE PUMPKIN

How cute is this little pumpkin!

The best part... it was made from an old blind which we removed from our bathroom (and was destined for the skip)
I adore a good freebie (pretty much) DIY project. Even better this little beauty now its proudly on our mantle for the next few months for Autumn and Halloween. Its so cute.

WHAT IT COST :: £0 - Nothing!
Material - £0 :: Cost nothing, up cycled from our bathroom
Foam Stuffing - £0 :: Cost nothing, up cycled from an old pillow
Small branch - £0 :: Cost nothing, from our garden
Ribbon/Needle/Scissors/Twine/Jute Material/Twisted dried branches

WHAT I USED
Material (i used this CUTE spotted material from our old blind and cute it into sections around 30cmx30cm in size)
Foam Stuffing (from an old pillow)
Ribbon
Needle
Scissors
Twine
Jute Material (for the bow) 30cmx5cm (two required)
Twisted dried branches
Small branch

WHAT I DID
> Lay out the material (as it was an old blind it was already cut into roughly a square shape)
> Cut the material in to four, the blind made four 30cmx30cm squares
> Take one of the squares and lay it flat. Put a small section of foam in the centre (i used an old pillow which was due to be thrown out)
> I folded the top/bottom/right and left side of the square of material in to the centre then working around i folded up each corner (this makes a neater edge)
> Wrap ribbon around the gathered top
> Threading ribbon on to a large needle and working from underneath thread the needle up through the pumpkin out through the 'top' and around the edge to form the pumpkin 'ridges' i used six ridges
To Decorate
> Taking a section of jute material 30cm in length and around 5cm in width i formed a bow and stitched it onto another section of the same size material. This can then be tied around the gathered top of the pumpkin
> Three curled branches were added to the top along with a wooden branch for added cuteness

Cute Pumpkin - check!
Cost Nothing - check!
Looks awesome on the mantle - check!!!
